Eurovision Song Contest Oslo 2010, dates confirmed.

The Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 will take place in the Oslo, Norway, the host Broadcaster NRK and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has confirmed today. The two Semi-Finals of the contest will take place on Tuesday 25 May and Thursday 27 May, with the Grand Final on Saturday 29 May, 2010. The venue to host the competition has yet to be chosen.

“It is a great honour for NRK to host the Eurovision Song Contest once again. Together with our colleagues of the EBU we are determined to organise this event in line with the highest standards,” said Hans-Tore Bjerkaas, Chief Executive of NRK. Preparations for the 2010 contest took off as soon as Norway was declared the winner of the Eurovison competition.The Norwegian broadcaster hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986 and 1996, as well as the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004.

“We are looking forward to work with NRK on this enormous production. A year from now, they will have the opportunity to show Europe and the world what they are capable of,” said Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor of the contest speaking on behalf of the EBU.
